Lot Essay

Le Bel: Très probablement Jean-Nicolas, domicilié rue Saint-Pierre, n.4, au Pont-aux-Choux. On trouve comme mention sous son nom pour le Salon de 1806 sous le n.326: "Tableau de fleurs et de fruits peint sur porcelaine"; très certainement une de nos deux plaques; cf. par Pierre Sanchez, Dictionnaire des Céramistes, Peintres sur porcelaine, verre et émail, Verriers et Emailleurs, exposant dans les Salons, Expositions Universelles, Industrielles, d'Art Décoratifs, et des Manufactures Nationales, 1700-1920, Dijon, 2005, Tome II, p.888.
