Two pairs and a set of three Chinese iron-red and gilt plates
Kangxi (1662-1722)
Comprising a pair of plates painted to the central roundel with two ladies in a fenced garden, surrounded by tulip-shaped panels enclosing flowers at the well, 22.5 cm. diam.; a pair of plates painted with a lady holding a baby accompagnied by two servants, the rim painted with tulip-shaped floral panels, 22.5 cm. diam.; and a set of three iron-red and underglaze-blue plates painted with a roundel of two ladies in a fenced garden, surrounded by petal-shaped floral panels at the shaped well, 21 cm. diam., frits and hairline cracks (7)
