What's The New Mary Jane? was recorded by John Lennon and George Harrison on 14 August 1968, for possible inclusion on the The Beatles album, but did not appear on the final release. It was further mixed on 26 November 1969. This version is an earlier out-take recording than appeared on Anthology 3, and is also different to the version Lennon wanted to issue as the Plastic Ono Band. Although not released on the White Album or by the Plastic Ono Band, a version was released as a B-side to the single Let It Be, March 1970.
