Comprising; Two Derbyshire slate obelisks, circa 1870, both with inscriptions; together with a Restauration siena marble and bronze pen stand, a Swedish silver-mounted blyberg porphyry presse-papier, an Italian green porphyry presse-papier with inscription, and a Regency bronze of a seated greyhound signed 'G.Garrard, Fecit, 20th March 1809'

Lot Essay

George Garrard (d.1826) was patronised by Samuel Whitbread II (d. 1815) of Southill. He started life as a painter, specialising in animals, and was a pupil of Sawrey Gilpin.
