Lot Essay

George Danson, cabinetmaker, of Lancaster, was listed in Gillows' petty ledger 1834-39, and became a freeman in July 1838. He is named in the Gillows' Estimate Sketch Books under numbers 5249 and 5350, indicating a likely date of manufacture shortly after March 1835.
