MARK OF LANGLANDS AND ROBERTSON, NEWCASTLE, 1784
Later-chased with rococo flowers and scrolls, crested; also a George I tea caddy, mark of John Newton struck 3 times and lion passant, London, circa 1725, one side engraved with contemporary baroque cartouche, the other later-chased with chinoiserie; also an electroplated coffee pot of George III style
the cup 6½ in. (16.6 cm.) high; caddy 5¼ in. (13.4 cm.) high
weighable silver 25 oz. (115 gr.)
The cup bears the crest, coronet and initials of Alsop for Baron Hindlip of Hindlip Hall, Worcestershire and Alsop-en-le-Dale, Derbyshire. The barony was created in 1880. (3)
