AN IRON-RED AND TURQUOISE DRAGON DISH, TONGZHI (1862-1875)
painted to the central well with a curling dragon with gilded flaming pearl, surrounded by concentric circles of alternating Shou characters and bat motifs, upon a turquoise ground, Ji xiang ru yi (Good fortune as you may wish) four character blue enamel mark to base; and a cylindrical porcelain box and cover, painted with a long tailed bird perched amongst flowering chrysanthemum and peony on a turquoise ground, wood stand -- the dish, 9½in. (24.2cm.) diam. (2)
