MARK OF JEAN-BAPTISTE LEVESQUE, PARIS, 1725
The ecuelle circular and with two spatulate handles, each cast with a classical bust within scrolls and musical trophies and on a textured ground, the cover with milled border and finely chased with strapwork on matted ground, the finial cast with a classical bust, marked near rim, and inside cover, the cover bezel and underside of each handle further marked with maker's mark, the cover bezel and one handle further marked with the décharge of Charles Cordier, the base further stamped with an inventory number S41, with a conforming circular stand by Odiot, late 19th century
