Each with a curved padded back above a circular seat covered in brass nailed black leather on turned lotus-lapetted legs with brass caps and castors, stamped to the underside 'C.MUNRO' and inscribed in ink '1842 PAISEL 1842'

The desk chair with palm-flowered and reeded urn-capped pillars, has a circular seat and Grecian-scrolled 'klismos' back as featured in Thomas King's The Modern Style of Cabinet Work Exemplified, 1829.
Munro's stamp appeared on a set of twelve dining-chairs sold Christie's, London, 8 June 2009, lot 182, and on a set of six ebonised and parcel-gilt dining chairs sold Christies, London, 24 July 2002, lot 236.
