A STUNNING ARRAY OF RARITY AND EMMINENCE IN THE WORLD OF FINE WINES
The following host of lots is an exemplary display of the finest mature vintages as can only be found in the rare wine auction market. Nearly all of the significant Post War vintages are touched upon through early to late-1980s. Nearly all are ultimate examples of their kind, highlights include: 1975 Trotanoy, 1961 Latour (standard and jero), 1959 Latour (jero), 1959 Haut Brion in OWC, 1947/1949 Cheval Blanc (mags), 1945 La Mission Haut-Brion (standard in OWC and mags), 1985 La Tâche (meth), 1971 La Tâche (mags), 1962 La Tâche (mags), a rarely seen 1952 La Tâche (mag), 1990 Romanée-Conti (mags), 1971 Romanée-Conti (standard and mag), 1962 Romanée-Conti (standard and mag), and lastly 1959 Romanée-Conti (standard).
Bringing these fine works of "art" to auction has been a careful and steady process by our team. Much of what is on offer here has been enjoyed at least once by this connoisseur's family so the allowance to share a few with others is an easy decision to make. Much of what is on offer constitutes the last few bottles that ever belonged to this cellar. In some instances they started off in this collection as full case quantities and in others not. But then, this is the difficulty in trying to acquire such rare gems, is it not? In order to assist you the buyer we have organized the collection in to lots where as many similarities are kept the same as possible. An example might include keeping like importers or conditions in the same lot as they were at one time likely to have been of the same original case. We leave it to you, the buyer, to do the mixing and matching as you see fit.
As you begin to review the following selection for sale please note the care which went into selecting the very best levels and conditions. In many instances you will find that this collection exceeds the average condition for wine of this kind on the market today.
