FINE YOUNG WINES
Lots 434-519 were bought on release by the current owner and haven't been out of temperature controlled storage since. Many of these wines are young and many were bought many cases deep, but no matter--many of them, the 2003s from the right bank, for example, will offer great pleasure if drunk young, and continued pleasure if laid in the cellar for the future.
Don't miss out on the small section of white Burgundies, lots great for warm-weather drinking, and the esteemed 2001 Yquem a wine still in its infancy but that will age a bit faster in half bottles. As a special treat, see lot 516, stuck in amongst the Bordeaux and Burgundy that makes up the bulk of almost all wine auction catalogs is a single bottle of the late Didier Dagueneau's Pouilly Fumé Paradoxe. This iconoclast made several wines in the Loire valley, most notably Pur Sang and Silex, but this single bottle of Paradoxe is something you don't see too frequently. Just as rare as pre-war Claret but less expensive!
Château Margaux--Vintage 1986
Margaux, 1er cru classé
Lot 434 levels: six bottom neck or better, four very top and two top shoulder; one slightly depressed cork, one sign of seepage, one sign of seepage. Lot 435 levels: bottom neck or better Both lots in original wooden case, 435 missing lid
