A gilt bronze figure of Tara
Nepal, 18th century
Standing in slight sway over an openwork lotus base, her right hand raised in vitarkamudra and her left lowered in varadamudra, each holding the stem of a lotus, clad in a long dhoti with incised hem and secured with a flowing sash, her shawl falling gracefully around her shoulders, further adorned with various jewelry including armlets and earrings inset with hardstones, her face with almond-shaped eyes centered with an urna, her hair secured with an elaborate foliate tiara with a hardstone at center and backed with a flaming aureola
