The cover decorated with a portrait of a lady in profile wearing a violet gown and a crown with pendant foliate charms set upon her flowing hair, both cabochon-set with opalescent "pearls", within a flower-embellished circlet, all upon an engine-turned ground beneath opaque white enamel decorated with trailing mistletoe, the back engraved with initials
