A Celadon Stoneware Maebyong Incised with Lotus Blossoms
Goryeo dynasty (12th-13th century)
With elegant s-shaped profile, finely proportioned rounded shoulders and slender, tapering body, incised overall with lotus arabesques attached to curving stems and decorated with a vitreous celadon glaze, emerald in color across the top of the shoulders and in long streaks down the body, the craquelure dense on the shoulders and longer and more vertical toward the foot
