SHANG DYNASTY, ANYANG PHASE, CIRCA 1200 BC
Of spatula shape, carved on the convex side with three taotie masks of graduated size, the reverse plain; together with an ivory tapering tubular handle or fitting, the wider end hollowed and carved at the top with two taotie masks above a wider band of alternating pendent and upright blades
