Two Valencia Manises hispano moresque lustre dishes
Late 15th Century (plato de estile mudejar) With red lustre body, the central domed boss decorated with a bird (con pajaros) surrounded by a band of Moorish or Kufic inscriptions, the border with hatched motifs alternating with oblique leaves, the reverse with kick-in base and various rings and a further small dish decorated with Moorish intertwined foliage issuing from a tiered basket, the border with crosses and the reverse with rings (both pierced for hanging, very minor chips)
The large one 32.5cm. diam., the small one 19.5cm. diam. (2)
