Lot Essay

Born in Dijon, the third son of sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, Auguste Louis Mathurin Moreau trained with his brother Mathurin. He regularly exhibited at the Salon until 1913. His subject matter consists of genre scenes, allegorical figures and romantic subjects.
