A RARE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL, JINGDEZHEN KILNS, XIANFENG FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN IRON-RED IN A LINE AND OF THE PERIOD (1851-1861)
Of bulbous ovoid form, finely painted with a continuous landscape scene with eight foreigners, arranged in two groups of four on either side, one group including a figure wearing a cloak and another figure riding a camel, the other group shown accompanied by an elephant and a buddhistic lion, the mouth of the bottle dressed in gilding, red glass stopper with gilt-bronze collar
