A PAINTED IVORY-EMBELLISHED LACQUER FRAMED TABLE SCREEN ON STAND
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The rectangular screen applied with a scene of an attendant carrying a tray of peaches across a bridge to two scholars seated drinking wine in a lakeside pavilion raised on pilings, with a farmer crossing a bridge in the background, all in painted ivory reserved on a painted lacquer background, the reverse in dark brown lacquer, in a hardwood frame carved with scrolls, and raised on a dark hardwood trestle stand carved with bats and clouds
