TWO PAINTED WOOD FIGURES OF SEATED LUOHANS
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
Each seated on a rockwork throne and wearing layered robes bordered in bands of gesso-built patterns, one with plain underrobe, his right hand raised and held with index finger and thumb touching, his face carved with prominent curved eyebrows, the other with flower-patterned underrobe shown holding a scroll in his right hand, the top of his head painted with black hair, both with traces of green, red, white and black pigment
