HONGZHI SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1488-1505)
Each with shallow rounded sides rising from a tapering ring foot, covered inside and out with a glaze of rich egg yolk-yellow tone
8 3/8 to 8½ in. (21.3 to 21.6 cm.) diam. (3)
Provenance
Acquired by the grandfather of the present owners, Whampoa, Guangdong, circa 1890-1920s, thence by descent within the family.
