THREE BLANC-DE-CHINE SCHOLARS' VESSELS
17TH/19TH CENTURY
The first a circular box and cover incised with characters above the sloping sides, on a flat foot ring; the second a cylindrical censer lightly incised with sprays of peony issuing from rockwork, raised on three bracket feet; the third a vase of compressed spherical form with tall neck and angular handles suspending loose rings
Box 3 5/8 in. (9.3 cm.) diam., box; censer 4¾ in. (12 cm.) across; vase 5½ in. (14 cm.) high; stands (3)
