A Meissen porcelain polychrome sugar bowl and cover
19th Century, marked with large underglaze blue crossed swords
After an 18th Century example, gilt and decorated with three quatrefoil cartouches depicting commercial scenes by a river (Kauffahrteiszenen), surrounded by Goldspitzenbordüre, further with sprays of Deutsche Blumen, the border with green-ground scales alternating with trelliswork, the domed cover en suite with two cartouches and with flowerbud finial
