A German fayence butter-tub and cover
Third quarter 18th Century, marked HL above 14 on the base and HL on the cover
Modelled as a tortoise, with head protruding forwards from underneath the moulded domed shell decorated with yellow and white spots on a manganese red ground, minor glaze frits
16 cm. long
