A pair of Austrian silver-gilt centre-pieces
Graz, 1780, and stuck with later Austrian duty mark of 1806-1807, maker's mark probably 'IV' in oval; the centre piece with the donkey probably the same but all marks indistinct
Both with animal standing by a tree, one a donkey with young, drinking from a water vessel, the other a stag, both inlaid with variously coloured hardstones and glass, on a pedestal stepped base with four foliate feet, some losses, marked to the rims and on the pedestal
