By Johan van den Eynde, called Johan a Fine, mid 16th century
The first inscribed LOF GODT VAN AL and JOHANNES AFINE Ao MDXLVII ME FECIT; the second inscribed LOF GODT VAN AL and ME FECIT JOHANNES AFINE Ao 1548 the body cast with cherubs, the handle possibly replaced; the third inscribed ME FECIT JOHANNES AFINE Ao 1549 the body crisply cast with grotesque motifs, monkies, an eagle and a rabbit

Christie’s charges a premium to the buyer on the Hammer Price of each lot sold at the following rates: 29.75% of the Hammer Price of each lot up to and including €20,000, plus 23.8% of the Hammer Price between €20,001 and €800.000, plus 14.28% of any amount in excess of €800.000.
