A TURQUOISE GLAZED POST-SASSANIAN POTTERY JAR
IRAN, CIRCA 8TH CENTURY
Of shouldered rounded form rising from flat base to tapering cylindrical mouth with everted rim, the body incised below the shoulder with diagonal facets, with two registers of applied rope-like bands above and below the shoulder, the collar incised with hatched wavy motifs under the glaze, the shoulder with a lattice of similar decoration, repaired breaks
