Arabic manuscript on paper, 505ff. plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 11ll., the first and the last lines in blue muhaqqaq, the middle line in gold muhaqqaq, the others in black naskh, the lines in muhaqqaq in larger cartouches, the text panel within gold and polychrome borders, gold and polychrome roundel verse markers, marginal medallions with floral illumination on blue ground, hizb indicated in blue thuluth in the margins, sura headings in white naskh on gold ground within illuminated panels, the opening bifolio with the fatiha in white naskh on gold ground within illuminated medallions set within a carpet illumation, each line of the following bifolio with sura al-baqara within cloud bands on gold ground within rich illuminations, last suras richly illuminated, closing bifolio with prayers within carpet illumination, in scuffed brown morocco
