Arabic manuscript on paper, 381ff. as numbered plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 13ll. of black naskh, with gold and polychrome roundel verse markers, catchwords, juz, hizb and 'ashr marked in gold naskh in the margins, sura headings in white on gold ground, the opening bifolio with 7ll. of black naskh with gold and polychrome floral illumination on deep blue ground and gold speckled paper, the colophon within gold and polychrome illuminated panel with added signature of 'Uthman al-Hafiz, the doublures with marbled paper, in original gilt and stamped brown morocco, minor staining towards the end
Text panel 4¼ x 2½in. (10.6 x 6.3cm.); folio 6 5/8 x 4 5/8in. (16.8 x 11.9cm.)
