Collection Mrs Ailsa Mellon Bruce
Ailsa Mellon Bruce (1903-1969) was a passionate and prolific collector of English and European decorative arts. Mrs Bruce was the only daughter of the famous Pittsburgh banker,art collector, politician and statesman, Andrew W Mellon, and was the sister of Paul Mellon. In 1926 she married the Hon David K Bruce. They divorced in 1945. Like her father, Mrs Bruce was a major philanthropist and patron of the arts.
