Lot Essay

The Sayf al-Dawla in 1318 was Sultan 'Abd al-Muhammad Mirza (d AH 1339/1920-21 AD). He was the older brother of 'Abd al-Majid Mirza 'Ayn al-Dawla, the Prime minister of Muzaffar al-Din Shah, and was given the title Sayf al-Dawla in 1299 (AD 1881-2). One of his posts was the tawliyat of the Shrine in Mashad and governorship of various provinces including Malayir where he is buried.
