An Italian walnut and fruitwood commode
Mid 18th Century
Banded overall and inlaid with fruitwood lines, the serpentine-fronted shaped rectangular top above a spreading frieze and a drawer enclosing a plain interior with three compartments, above a hinged door enclosing a later interior with two doors, above a later waved apron centred by a scallop shell, on cabriole legs headed by husks, reconstucted with later apron, legs and backboards, the top drawer relined, the lower drawer now with a door and with later drawer arrangement
