THE PROVENANCE

Fred Hughes (1944-2001), was the business manager for Andy Warhol and later the executor of his estate. His relationship with Warhol, as his business manager and later the executor of his estate, is often cited as the driving force behind Warhol's rise to both artistic and commercial success. Hughes was known for his refined, omnivorous taste and his eclectic collection included American decorative arts, Old Master Paintings, tribal art and even toys.
