Of cylindrical form, with a thin cylindrical bolster around the top edge, chamfered below, on a low circular foot, the body painted on both sides with a multi-coloured bouquet of flowers, the short handles simulating relief scrolls and painted in cardinal red, marked under base with dark blue overglaze 'E II' and dot

Bottle coolers were produced in various forms by the Imperial Porcelain Factory in the 1760s and were included as part of important services for the Imperial Court such as the Arabesque Service (1784) and the Yacht Service (1785-1787).
