Lot Essay

The Order services, created between 1777-1785, were in use all the way up until 1916. Replacement plates were produced not only by the Gardner Factory but also by the Imperial Porcelain Factory. Early replacement places produced by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, such as this one, are extremely rare. Only two are known at the State Historical Museum in Moscow.
