A porcelain figure of a gardener with spade from the series 'Children as Gardeners'
by the Gardner Porcelain Factory, Moscow, 1790s
Realistically modelled, a figure of a bare-foot young boy wearing a white shirt, vest with purple dots, brown frock-coat and grey trousers, black hat decorated with a red flower, resting his foot on a spade supported by his left hand and holding a red flower in the other, on a circular naturalistic base, marked under base with light blue underglaze Cyrillic 'G' and large impressed mark in the shape of a 'G' or '6' and an old paper label with number '29'
