A porcelain plate and two cups and saucers from the Count Rumiantsev-Zadunaiskii Service
by the Meissen Porcelain Factory, period of Catherine II, 1774
Circular, the body painted with the monogram 'CR' (Comte Roumiantseff) surmounted by a crown, framed within a garland of gilt laurel and palm leaves, wound round with the ribbon of the Order of the Cross of St George, the border decorated with relief trellis and rocaille cartouches, inside and around which are incorporated puce flowers, with two similarly decorated cups of semi-spherical form, and circular saucers, marked under base with blue underglaze crossed swords
Plate 8¾ in. (22.1 cm.) diameter, each cup 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) high, each saucer 5 3/8 in. (13.5 cm.) diameter (5)
