KOKOSHNIK WITH 'POCHELOK' AND 'KHLOBYSTEN''
Northern provinces, Russia, late 18th - early 19th century
Circular, with a narrow top and wide base, the green and pink silk heavily embroidered with gilt metal thread and embellished with pink foiled glass, shells, and metal plaques, with a shell fringe at the front, cream silk ribbons attached at the temples and a multi-coloured floral silk-brocade panel finishing in a gold thread fringe at back, lined with green silk and red and black floral linen
