A PORCELAIN BUST OF EMPEROR ALEXANDER I
by the Fürstenberg Porcelain Factory, 19th century
Realistically modelled, a biscuit porcelain bust of the Emperor depicted in uniform and wearing the sash and star of the order of St Andrew, on the fluted column-like socle, mounted on a glazed hexagonal plinth, the bust inscribed on the back: 'Alexander I./K.a.R.', marked under socle 'W' 'No: II.', further marked with incised '2' and 'J' under hexagonal rim of the base and blue underglaze mark and letter 'Z' and embossed 'O' inside base
the bust with plinth: 11 1/8 in. (28.7 cm.) high
