Fedor Fedorovich Buxhoeveden (1750-1811) was a prominent Russian Imperial Army general. He had a distinguished military career, rising from a cadet (1764) to commander-in-chief of the Imperial Army (1808). Buxhoeveden's most heralded military achievement was the siege of Sveaborg Castle in 1808, which brought an end to the Finnish war against Sweden (1808-1809) and resulted in the annexation of Finland to Russia.
