by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, the cup period of Alexander III, 1891, the saucer provisional Government, 1917, painted by Maria Kirilova, 1922
Cylindrical, the cup painted with a black tazza supporting fruits, flowers and foliage painted in brown on white ground, a brown band around the base, with painted and moulded chevron scroll handle, the saucer with central brown band and decorated with a foliate outer border, both with black rims, marked under bases, the cup with green underglaze crown cypher 'A III' and later blue overglaze hammer, sickle and cog mark, dated '1922', 'N: 248/3', the saucer with green underglaze double-headed eagle mark, dated '1917', with later blue overglaze hammer, sickle and cog mark, dated '1922', 'N. 249/2' and overglaze painted puce initials 'MK'
