A PORCELAIN CUP AND SAUCER WITH VIEW OF THE MOSCOW KREMLIN
BY THE SÈVRES PORCELAIN FACTORY, circa 1812
The cylindrical cup finely painted with a panoramic view of The Kremlin across the Moskva River, on gilt ground, painted with a green palmate around the handle terminal, and inscribed in gilt under base, the saucer painted with green classical decoration, the white ground octagonal centre with a rosette and ribbon-tied laurel swags, on gold ground, the burnished border with oak leaf and greek key pattern banding, marked under bases, in red 'M. Imp.le/de Sevres/1812.', and inscribed 'SD' 'SM' under the cup and '116' 't' beneath the saucer
the cup 2 7/8 in. (7.4 cm.) high
The inscription reads 'Vue du Kremlin et de ses environs a Moskow.'
