Lot Essay

In 1928 the film Nord-Ost appeared on the Soviet screens. Directed by C. Sabinsky (1885-1941), and starring Zoia Valevska and Sergei Trotskii, the film was about exhibitions dedicated to the conquest of the Arctic seas. The original film has been lost and the present lot is rare graphic evidence of its legacy.
