The paintings in the present lot are based on two engravings by Jean Moyreau. Moyreau engraved the first after an original by Karel van Falens, in the Louvre (inv. 1281). The latter was engraved after an original by Wouwerman, in the Dresden Gemäldegalerie (inv. 1439).
