Lot Essay

The present lot and lot 90 were brought from The Netherlands to Australia in the 19th Century by the brother of the famous impresario and philanthropist W.H. Palin. These works have not seen the the market ever since.

The present lot will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné on the artist by Pieter Overduin, no. 43-6.
