Lot Essay

Tamara Karsavina (1885-1978) and Vaslav Nijinsky (1890-1950) were famous Russian ballet dancers in Serge Diaghilev's Les Ballets Russes in the early 20th century. Their partnership was legendary and the Paris seasons of the Ballets Russes were a sensation and set trends in dance, music, art and fashion for years to come.
