Lot Essay

This appears to be an incomplete plate that was perhaps destined to have depicted 150 or more specimens. It also gives a plausible insight into how Ellis Rowan built up the plates, starting with the centre column, and then perhaps adding columns to the right and left alternately, to fill the sheet.
