FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY
With hinged cover, inner compartmented drop-in tray, and metal bracket handles, supported on four paw feet, densely carved in varying degrees of relief around the sides and on the cover with numerous figures at various leisurely pursuits including in boats, on horseback, in pavilions, playing musical instruments, drinking tea and in conversation, amongst pine, willow and other trees and shrubs, the domed cover with flat top surmounted by a rounded finial carved and pierced with fruit, flowers and foliage; various ivory sewing accessories, compartment covers and fittings, a circular tray and a box and cover; and a white metal key, probably original
