FIRST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
CASE: with pineapple finials to all angles (rear replaced) and surmounted by a flowering urn decorated with paste-set and enamelled flowers, the silvered front panel applied with filigree decoration and with enamel flowers, also with gilt-metal animals, the side panels with applied flambeau urn mounts
DIAL: with paste-set bezel to the 5½ in. diameter white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with cut brass hands and fine counterpoised blued steel centre seconds hand (restored)
MOVEMENT: with rear hand set, twin chain fusees, duplex escapement with engraved gilt-metal bridge to three-arm brass balance, striking the quarters on a nest of eight bells and the hours on further bell, the foliate engraved back plate with engraved border; winding key
17½ in. (44.5 cm.) high; 9 in. (23 cm.) wide; 6¼ in. (16 cm.) deep
