The shallow dish delicately potted with a wide everted rim, the interior with three spur marks, all supported on three short rounded feet
5¼ in. (13.5 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The techique of marbling pottery by layering or folding togther two layers of clay and then cutting them prior to modelling became popular in the Tang dynasty. These wares were usually covered with a pale yellow or amber glaze, as seen in the present dish.
